Well, Endless Waltz was selected by the Kindle Scout program for publication. It was disappointing but not unexpected. I don't have a fanbase built up yet so it was only in "hot and trending" for 18 hours out of the full thirty days ._. However, I have hope! I've submitted my work to a new publishing house at the invitation of the editor so I'm waiting to see how that pans out.
As for writing, I've completed Celestial Maiden (Book Two of The Near Shore series) as well as Guilty Grown (Book Three of The Near Shore series). They both require heavy editing and pruning but at least they're complete-ish. The latter went in a completely different direction than I originally intended so I'm interested to hear what my beta readers think ^_^ (Note: If you'd like to be a beta reader please let me know!)
In other news, it's blistering hot here in Georgia. Upper nineties every day with the heat index in the hundreds. Thankfully, we have a lovely pool that's perfect for relaxing. Laying on a float feeling weightless is an ideal time to brainstorm ideas! Who knows how many of them will pan out?
Until next time <3

I've entered Endless Waltz into a contest of sorts. Kindle Scout encourages authors to submit never-before-published works in a bid to win a publishing contract. How does it work? Kindle Scout pieces together a campaign page for you based on what you input (synopsis, author bio, cover, et cetera) and people have the chance to "nominate" your book if they like it. It doesn't cost anything to nominate a book. You simply login with your Amazon account and click the blue nominate button.
While the Kindle Scout team does review each and every book submitted for publication supposedly, the more nominations your book garners the more likely you are to win a contract. Why? Votes are indicative that people want to read your book. No one is going to publish a book that can't catch anyone's attention or interest. I don't know how many nominations my book is garnered so far, but I hope it's doing well. Even if I don't ultimately score a publishing contract with Kindle Press I still intend on releasing it just like I did with Once We Were.
I've recently finished the third book in The Near Shore series so I'm taking a bit of a break. The story developed in ways that were entirely unpredictable so I have to think carefully where I want to take the characters next.
That's all for now. I'll keep you updated on what's going on with the Kindle Scout campaign ^_^

I thought it was time for a layout change. The first layout was fine for awhile, but it was too predictable. When I showed it to a dear friend of mine he said "I knew there would be swirlies." So the swirls are gone now. This layout is much simpler than what I had before which I quite like. Plus, it's suitable for spring.
On the writing front I'm roughly halfway through the editing process for the third book. It's going smoothly. I reworked an entire chapter to better fit the plot which was quite an interesting task because it meant making little additional edits at various other places in the book. Once We Were is, strictly speaking, a novella (the shortest piece I've ever written), but the books to come are proper novels.
That's it for now. Time to go work on my GoodReads Author profile ^_^

Well, everyone, it's official. Once We Were is now for sale on Amazon.com for the low price of $2.99. Tell your friends and family! Your neighbors and the people you see on the streets! That's certainly what I'm doing. A new author has to start somewhere, right?
I ordered my business cards last week so I'm anxiously awaiting their arrival. They're supposed to be delivered on Friday. When they finally arrive I'll be sure to take pictures and uploade them to the photo gallery so you can see what they look like. I'm also waiting for my very first business card holder to be delivered. It's scheduled to be delivered today so maybe I'll share pictures of it as well ^_^
In other news, I've begun the editing process of the next book. Things are going smoothly for now, thankfully. Let's hope they continue that way!
That's it for now. Take care, everyone!

Thank goodness this domain name was available. I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't. I suppose I would have had to use my cat's name or something like that! I think we can all agree that using one's own name sounds just a little bit more professional ^_^
As this is my one and only official website it will serve dual purposes as both a creative and professional outlet. The News page will always showcase the latest information about my books—the first of which, Once We Were, will soon be available on Amazon. The Books page will contain any and all cover art as well as brief synopses. The Photo Gallery will feature everything from myself to my family and my pets and the world around me. If I happen to capture it and it inspires me in some way it will likely end up in the Photo Gallery.
I intend to use this blog to keep track of the progress I make on new material. Although I may occasionally write about other things, it will first and foremost be used to keep all of you up-to-date with my writing process. I may even post little excerpts here from time to time ^_~
That's all for now. I'll update again when Once We Were is officially available on Amazon. In the meantime, please feel free to comment or contact me directly using the form on the News page.
